With December 1st, 2017 a new regulation concerning the classification for employees working in trade became effective in Austria. All commercial companies with this collective agreement have to apply the regulations until latest December 1, 2021.
There will be a standard wage schedule for the entire Austrian territory. Furthermore there will be 8 employment groups which are described more explicit.
The new wage schedule is eligible for each employee until the due date of December 1st, 2021. The works council has to approve the application. A company without a works council has to inform each employee about the adjustment of the collective agreement three months prior.
If there is a gap of more than EUR 65.00 between the minimum remuneration based on the old and the new collective agreement, the remuneration can be compensated step by step. This is only applicable if the new regulations will be effective until December 1st, 2019.
Formal requirements:
To ensure transparency and legal certainty all-in-contracts have to be adapted with stricter formal parameter.
