After four rounds of negotiations, employers and unions were able to finalize the changes regarding the collective agreement for 2020. They are as follows:
Salaries
Salaries increase on average 2.35%, with the lower three salary groups being raised by 2.5% and the remaining by 2.2%. The minimum salary according to the new salary scheme – to which the changeover must be completed by all commerce companies until the end of 2021 – is € 1.714,- gross.
Confirmation of the increases agreed upon in the previous year:
- 1st apprenticeship year: increase of € 50,- to € 700,-;
- 2nd year of apprenticeship: increase of € 80,- to € 900,- and
- 3rd apprenticeship year: increase of € 50,- to € 1.150,-.
This is an average plus of 7.7%.
Additional days off
The social partners also arranged for two additional days off starting 2020. In recognition of their many years of service, salaried employees will receive an additional day of on the occasion of their 10th and 15th year of service.
Anniversary bonus
As in the industrial sector, the possibility to consume the anniversary bonus in leisure time is also granted from now on.
The new collective agreement will be valid starting January 1st, 2020.
